If your computer is freezing every time you use it, there's something wrong inside your system. The key to fixing this problem is to work out the cause and then fix that. More often than not, it's the smallest part of your system that causes your PC to freeze, and here's how to fix it:

Step 1 - Restart Your PC In "Safe Mode"- Safe Mode is where your computer starts without any of the programs or drivers that can crash it. You should restart your computer and before Windows even loads up, keep pressing F8 continuously. This will bring up an options screen which will allow you to boot up your PC in Safe Mode. When you do this, leave your PC for a while and then try and use it in the same way as you normally would. If it freezes in safe mode, then it's a hardware issue and you should take it to your local computer store. However, if it does not freeze then it's a software issue.

If It Freezes In Safe Mode, Then...

Step 2 - Uninstall Any Unwanted Programs- A single program can cause your computer to freeze. You should uninstall any of the programs that you don't want on your PC by clicking Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs. This will show you the software that is on your computer and you should remove the programs you don't want. This might not solve the issue completely but it will certainly help.

Step 3 - Update Windows & Your Drivers- Often, a conflict inside Windows can cause your PC to freeze. You need to make sure you have all the latest updates for your machine and drivers. To do this, you should open up the Control Panel and click on the "Update" button. This will allow you to update Windows. You should also right-click on the "MyComputer" icon and then select "Properties". This will take you to the "Device Manager" of Windows where you can update all the drivers inside it.

Step 4 - Perform A Virus Scan- Scanning for viruses is a big way to fix computer freezes. Viruses are small software programs which infect your computer and try to do various harmful things to your PC. To fix this, you need to use an anti virus program to scan through the database and remove any of the infections that could be causing your PC to freeze.

Step 5 - Clean Out The Registry- If your computer is still freezing, then you should clean out the registry. This is a database which stores information and settings about your computer and is also where a lot of errors occur inside the Windows system. You should download and use a 'registry cleaner' program to scan through the registry and remove any of the damaged settings that are inside it. These tools are widely available online and are able to fix your PC and make it run like it did when it was new.
