Does he like me or love me would have to be one of the first thoughts that go through a girl's mind when her boyfriend says that he loves her for the first time. Why is this so? Is it because today so many people say they love someone in a sort of throw away saying when what they really mean is "I really like you"?
I am amazed quite frankly, how often people today use the word love. Love is something that is super special and the word seems to have become 'watered-down' to really mean "I think you are really special". Thinking someone is super special is quite different in meaning to the word love.
Love is enduring, through thick and thin, come hell or high water. Love is eternal.
There are a number of loves in this world but every meaning holds endurance. A parent's love for a child is eternal. Doesn't mean that you always like the child or what the child does but as a parent one never stops loving them.
A wife loves her husband in such a way that she accepts every part of him and all his shortcomings. A nagging wife needs to ask herself if she really loves her husband and if the answer is an unequivocal "yes" then she needs to control her nagging nature. If she never asks herself this question because she doesn't want to know the answer then she is a coward and cheating herself and him of really being loved.
If a husband really loves his wife he will not want to control or own her. A wife is not a belonging or a possession and if you really love her you will always trust her to do the best for you her husband and your family without it being 'demanded' of her.
In today's world, once those front doors to a household are closed, no one really knows what goes on inside except those who live there. If true love is present in the house, the feeling on entering the front door is one of peace and tranquility. If there is disharmony and anger, it can be felt by most strangers when they first enter the house.
A person can love their pet. Any pet can also return love in their own way. This love is often based on a mutual dependency and shared companionship.
A friend that you have known all your life or someone who you share a special relationship with can be loved. This love of a friend is different again because there is usually no sexual overtones or under-current present. A loved friend is usually someone who you share a special bond with whether that is humour, a liking for something or something shared.
Love cannot be forced or demanded. It is something that is freely given. And in the case of husband, wife and lovers, it can't be controlled because of the human chemistry that just happens between people. This chemical attraction to someone is not something that can be engineered or controlled but it often forms the foundations of our lives together.
Love is a complicated, wonderful state of being human. So before you say that you love someone again, try telling that "special someone" that you really like them and think they are really special instead. And tell them often. This they will believe without question and adore you the more for it.
